Epoxy Polyester

The most versatile powder coating for indoor applications.

Product Overview

Oracle Epoxy Polyester powder coatings combine the superior corrosion resistance of epoxy with the excellent mechanical properties of polyester. The world's most widely used powder coating type - ideal for indoor applications requiring chemical resistance and decorative versatility.

Key Features

  • Excellent flow and levelling for smooth, uniform aesthetics
  • Wide decorative range including wrinkle and texture finishes
  • Superior chemical resistance to household and industrial chemicals
  • High impact resistance - dents without cracking or flaking
  • Available across the full RAL colour range
  • RoHS and REACH compliant zero-VOC formulation

Where Epoxy Polyester belongs

Epoxy polyester is the default choice for metal that lives indoors. It is a hybrid: an epoxy resin cured with a polyester crosslinker, which buys most of the chemical and corrosion resistance of a pure epoxy at a lower cost, with better flow and a wider decorative range. Its one hard limit is ultraviolet light.

Specify Epoxy Polyester for

  • Office and institutional furniture, shelving, lockers and storage systems
  • White goods, appliance panels and enclosures kept indoors
  • Machine guarding, control cabinets and equipment housings under a roof
  • Indoor architectural metalwork where a wide gloss and colour range matters

Do not specify it for

  • Anything that sees daylight. The epoxy backbone chalks and fades, visibly within a single summer in Indian conditions
  • Sustained immersion or aggressive solvent contact, where pure epoxy performs better

What the test reports show

Oracle report OI/QC/PC/2026-0147 to 0149 covers this chemistry on 0.8 mm mild steel with zinc phosphate pre-treatment: 500 to 750 hours salt spray to ASTM B117, 800 to 1000 hours humidity to ASTM D2247, adhesion 5B, mandrel bend 5 mm pass, pencil hardness H to 2H. Gloss at 60 degrees is 88 to 90 GU glossy, 55 to 60 GU satin and 8 to 10 GU matt.
