Pure Polyester

Where Pure Polyester belongs

Pure polyester is what you specify the moment a part sees daylight. The polyester backbone holds its colour and gloss under ultraviolet light where an epoxy or a hybrid does not. Everything else about the two chemistries is close enough that exposure, not performance, is the deciding question.

Specify Pure Polyester for

• ✓Architectural aluminium, window and door systems, curtain wall and louvres
• ✓Railings, gates, balustrades, fencing and street furniture
• ✓Outdoor furniture, garden equipment and sports infrastructure
• ✓Farm and agricultural equipment working in open sun
• ✓Any part under a shed or canopy but otherwise outdoors, which still counts as exterior

Do not specify it for

• ✕Heavy chemical or solvent service, where pure epoxy is the stronger barrier
• ✕Applications demanding more than 750 hours salt spray, where pure epoxy or polyurethane should be specified instead

What the test reports show

Oracle reports OI/QC/PP/2026-0152 to 0154 cover this chemistry: 700 to 1000 hours accelerated weathering to ASTM G154, 500 to 750 hours salt spray to ASTM B117, humidity at or above 1000 hours. Gloss at 60 degrees is 90 to 93 GU glossy, 60 to 70 GU satin and 9 to 11 GU matt. TGIC and TGIC-free HAA formulations are both available; specify TGIC-free for export to Europe.
